The collaboration with Stefan Schmid has been a new and refreshing experience for the band and through this, Fortuna has become a unique AKB Album with it’s added subtle, disorderly elements as well as rhythmical production components. On Sunday, February 23 we were guests at the Dutch TV show Podium Witteman. Gijs got to talk about the history of Klezmer and we got to perform our song 101 Klezmer of our new album Fortuna! You can see our performance here.

The first music of Fortuna is out now. Tanz Tanz Tanz is the opening track of the new album.
Jasper de Beer; ” After experimenting a lot with the band with all kinds of cross-overs I wanted to write a fast instrumental party tune with a traditional vibe s. Producer Stefan wanted to hear a yell or some short words, so i came up with “Tanz Tanz Tanz” The title is a bit tongue in cheek because when a klezmer band comes up with a song named like this you would expect something old fashioned sounding. Well this is not the case at all. Stefan rejuvenated this klezmer tune with his producer skills by adding a funky back beat and some spicy sound effects.”
